What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a medical cosmetic procedure where very fine needles puncture the skin to various depths to cause a controlled injury and induce the skin to make more collagen. Microneedling is designed to treat skin conditions such as: fine lines, wrinkles, scars, hyper-pigmentation, hair growth, enlarged pores, stretch marks and sagging skin.

How does this treatment work?

All clients must have a consultation with Alessandra to ensure you are a Microneedling candidate and discuss in detail what to expect, how to prepare and aftercare instructions. The first step is applying a thick layer of topical 5% Lidocaine numbing cream to the treatment area for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the Lidocaine is removed with Isopropyl Alcohol Antiseptic to ensure the skin is clean and prepped for treatment. A Hyaluronic Acid Serum is applied topically to the skin to keep the skin hydrated during treatment and expedite the healing process. A sterile disposable needle cartridge penetrates the skin in a controlled depth manner to force the skin to repair itself, resulting in a
collagen induction response. After the treatment is completed, a sterile Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Matrixyl Peptide sheet masque from the fridge will be applied to soothe the skin. The skin is expected to be red, sensitive and tight for about 24-48 hours after the treatment.
